Lovers Plus Spotlight - Botswana
A national radio programme which focuses on reaching middle income urbanities 18-25 years old, with an emphasis on females, to create awareness and discussion about reproductive health issues.
Communication Strategies
A live nationally broadcast radio show airing for half an hour once a week. It airs at an optimum time because they are able to catch part of the 90 minute window when the only "commercial music hip" station in the country goes nationwide. People call-in, or write-in, and the format is that of "chats" on weekly topics.
Development Issues
Many issues, including HIV/AIDS and reproductive health
Key Points
The show is based on a peer education approach that is also used in PSI/Botswana's Peer Education Promotion (PEP) Program.
