ICTs, Community Development.
Programme organisers state that civil society communities in the Southern African Development Community have experimented with ways of using Information Communications Technologies (ICT) as tools for development. There is a need for stakeholders within the region to share experiences, learn from each other, generate new ideas collectively, and lobby for more effective access to ICTs based on country specifications.
The secretariat is SANGONeT (South Africa), the three nodal points are the Tanzania Association of NGOs, Epsilon and Omega (Malawi) and e_brain Forum (Zambia). More than 15 other partners are also part of the project.Funders are The Open Society Initiative For Southern Africa and the International Development Research Centre.
