Social norms action with informed and engaged societies
After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.

Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.

We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at lainiciativadecomunicacion.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

The Mexican Association of Communication Researchers (AMIC)discusses communication problems and analyses the theoretical focus on this field of research in conferences and seminars. Its members exchange experiences in an open forum that is held annually where individuals involved in the studies share their results.
Communication Strategies
Throughout its history, AMIC has maintained contact with several social organisations, as well as a constant presence in public debate on the right to issue regulations on information. In addition, it has published several papers on this topic.

AMIC evaluates scientific research projects in the area of communications - at both the local and international levels - through forums, periodical gatherings, chats, round tables, and all types of academic events. It periodically organises national and international meetings for communication researchers as well as other frequent gatherings to analyse and evaluate the social communication policies and programmes that are established and transmitted by the country's leading sectors.

AMIC also promotes activities related to this research. Furthermore, it encourages discussions on social communication policies and evaluates the role performed by the current communication systems in the country and the region.

This Association provides its members with professional services at other institutions, provided that they are related to activities in the field of the Communication Sciences.
