Educator’s Awareness Project
This project uses face-to-face exchanges - workshops - in addition to printed materials in an effort to enable educators to deal with issues of sexual diversity, not only amongst their pupils but also amongst themselves. The programme offers 2-day workshops which provide educators with knowledge, information and materials about sexuality. The project’s participants receive a manual containing information and activities, and receive ongoing support from the project organisers.
The workshops are presented by a Triangle Project trainer who is a qualified clinical psychologist. The workshop contents include:
- Why the need to address sexual diversity?
- Exploring and knowing ourselves
- Developing ways to involve our learners
- Sexual diversity - questions and answers
- Sexual identity and development through childhood, adolescence and adulthood
- Responding to sexual diversity at school
Youth, Rights.
The main aim of the project is to reduce homophobia, prejudice and heterosexism in schools and create safe and secure environments for students. The project organiers hope it will help to reduce the prejudice and ignorance that exist in schools.
