Sybil G. Jacobs Award for Outstanding Use of Tobacco Industry Documents
Sybil G. Jacobs Award for Outstanding Use of Tobacco Industry Documents recognises a person who has made a significant and well-recogniz
sed contribution to the health of the public in the recent past through use of tobacco documents. The award honours innovation in the use and application of tobacco industry documents to improve the public's health and, where applicable, to further the goals of tobacco prevention and control in order to help build a world where young people reject tobacco and anyone can quit. Those nominated should be individuals who have made a notable impact through innovative use of tobacco industry documents as applied to research, policy, or advocacy.
Each recipient will receive a US$7,500 cash award and will attend the awards ceremony at the World Conference on Tobacco or Health to be held October 24-26 in Minneapolis, MN, United States (US).
Nominees must not have any affiliation with the tobacco industry. Each nominee must either have
made a contribution to research, policy, or advocacy with the use of tobacco industry documents and/or have employed innovative, creative approaches to the employment of tobacco industry documents that result in an improvement in the health or public awareness of a community or nation.
The deadline for application is July 11 2007.
