Training Workshop on Communication For Advocacy Strategy to Eradicate Gender-Based Violence

The report is a result of training workshop that was held in Dar es Salaam from January 27-31st 2003. The workshop on leadership, gender and human rights was organised by Equity Tanzania. The theme of this training was "Communication for Advocacy Strategies" aiming to eradicate gender-based violence (GBV)/violence against women.
Participants at the workshop were from the Media, community-based organisations (CBOs) and non-governmental organisations (NGOs). Six participants came from radios; one from TV; nine from newspapers; 15 from CBOs and NGOs.
The workshop aimed to empower women in various aspects and to build the capacity of women leaders across continents. It was also an effort to fight social injustices so as to achieve gender equity and equality. The workshop objectives were to enable participants to:

I need more information as i want to pursue it in doing my masters program.Though i have been conducting workshops there are informations that are more important to me especially when looking at advocacy.My name is Florence Sandy from Sierra Leone, i was working for IRC on GBV programs which i found most interesting.
