Love Life - South Africa
This is a national multi-media, edu-entertainment collaborative programme aiming at positively influencing adolescent behaviour to reduce teenage pregnancy, and STD's including HIV/AIDS. The primary target group are youth aged 12-17.
Communication Strategies
Television programmes include ‘Jika Jika' - a youth sex talk show, ‘S'camto' - a 13 week television series, and ‘Codi:Loud and Clear' - a series for children run 6 times a week. On the radio, Yfm, 5fm, Metrofm, Public Service Radio and Community radio in Eastern Cap and Northern province reach millions of listeners through talk shows and games. A national newspaper, The Sowetan, also runs ads and editorials on Love Life. Other channels include a website, education, peer support, training, counselling and referral services.

Key Points
Discussion is encouraged on the topics of sex, sexuality and gender relations, the development of adolescent friendly reproductive health services is accelerating, and education, outreach and institutional support are being expanded.
